The GolfPrint Trophy -
2007–2008
The GolfPrint Trophy is a bridge event contested by teams of four representing their Golf Clubs. The event consists of three stages:
1) Each County Bridge Association is free to run its own qualifying event, in whatever format they choose. Most counties choose to hold a one-day round-robin event, but some, for example, hold a knockout event.
2) From each county event a proportion qualify for the Regional Finals, which are held in four bridge clubs around the country. The Regional Finals are one-day Multiple Teams events, taking place on the 23rd February 2008.
3) Depending on the sizes of the Regional Finals, either four or six teams will qualify for the National Final on 29th March 2008. This will be run as a full round-robin with head-to-head matches.
Entry is open to all bona fide Golf Clubs in England. Players are not required to be members of the EBU, but must be members of the Golf Club that they represent. Each team, at any one time, must consist of at least three players who have not yet reached the rank of Regional Master (the fourth player may be of any rank).
Entries and enquiries should initially be directed to the County Bridge Association. The County is free to set the entry fee for its own heat, but pays a fee to the EBU according to the number of teams qualifying for the Regional Final.
Your County heat is at Manchester Bridge Club on Thursday 31st January 2008 at 7.30 pm. ENTRY FEE IS £40 PER TEAM. A SANDWICH BUFFET IS PROVIDED AT THE INTERVAL. Contact JEFF MORRIS for further details. |
